About the Ride
Take a day trip to the picturesque Catalan countryside and visit the coastal city of Tarragona. Your Welcomer will act as your local guide, sharing historical facts, essential information about the sights, and personal insights to help immerse you in the Spanish lifestyle. After a 100 km ride, you will reach Tarragona – an ancient port town founded before the 5th century BC, renowned for its Roman ruins spread throughout the area. The unique religious buildings in the centre of Tarragona also attract visitors from across the globe.
Your journey will begin at the Tarragona Amphitheatre, a symbol of ancient Rome located just outside the city. This impressive site could hold up to 13,000 spectators, who would watch gladiator battles and the hunting of wild animals. Next, you will visit the Tarragona Cathedral, a stunning example of Romanesque/Gothic architecture founded in the 12th century. The cathedral now houses exquisite works of art and historical treasures. If you're a Game of Thrones fan, you'll recognise this as one of the iconic shooting locations! After exploring, wander through Tarragona City and make sure to visit the Central Market, where locals shop for fresh seasonal produce and a variety of other goods.
At the top of Rambla Nova, the Balco del Mediterrani offers a panoramic view of Tarragona and the Mediterranean Sea from 40 metres above the ground. This spot, favoured by locals, is the perfect place to take in the breathtaking scenery. Finally, visit the Ferreres Aqueduct, a remarkable 249-metre-long ancient bridge built by the Romans to supply water to the ancient city of Tarraco.
At the end of the trip, your driver will return you to your accommodation in Barcelona.

Although the drivers are very knowledgeable regarding the points of visit, at no point can they be compared with a licensed tour guide who can give more in depth information regarding historic facts and information. If you would like to include an official tour guide in the experience please let us know via email after the booking is completed.
