About the Ride
Delve into the creative mind of the Impressionist master Claude Monet on this Giverny day trip from Paris. Explore the artist’s former home and gardens at your own pace, where you can peek into his studio and bedroom, and stroll through the vibrant gardens that inspired many of his iconic paintings. Next, visit the Museum of Impressionism, pay respects at Monet’s grave, or take a leisurely walk through the village of Giverny, where you’ll find charming cafés and quaint souvenir shops.
Your journey begins with a pickup from your Paris accommodation in a private car, and you'll spend the afternoon in the picturesque town of Giverny, where Claude Monet (1840–1926) lived for the last forty years of his life. Enjoy 3–4 hours to visit at your own pace. Wander through the gardens where Monet painted numerous versions of Les Nymphéas (The Water Lilies), capturing the changing light and seasons, and admire the stunning Japanese bridge over the pond. Visit the house where Monet lived, including his studio, his bedroom overlooking the garden, and his beautiful collection of Japanese estampes.
Take time to visit the nearby cemetery where Monet is buried, surrounded by flowers, and perhaps stop at one of the many cafés along the way. You can also shop for souvenirs or pick up flowers for your garden before returning to Paris.
