After approximately 3 hours, you will arrive at your main destination, the Delphi Archaeological Site. According to Ancient Greek mythology, Zeus released two eagles from the West and East, and where they met in the middle, it marked the centre of the world. Delphi became a sanctuary dedicated to Apollo, the son of Zeus, and the site of the ancient Oracle. At this sacred archaeological site, you will have the opportunity to visit the Temple of Apollo, the Castalia Spring, the Delphi Archaeological Museum, and the impressive Ancient Theatre. Delphi was also home to the Pythian Games, the precursors to the modern Olympics, which attracted athletes from all over Greece every four years.
Next, your driver will take you to a traditional Greek taverna where you can enjoy a delicious lunch in the stunning surroundings of Mount Parnassos. After your meal, you will continue your journey to the idyllic mountain village of Arachova, located 968m above sea level. This picturesque village, built on the southern slope of Mount Parnassos, offers breathtaking views of the valley, charming shops, and unique local architecture.
Your adventure will then take you to the Hosios Loukas Monastery, a Middle Byzantine monument listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Situated on a beautiful mountainside, it is the oldest monastery of its kind and a remarkable example of ancient architecture and art.
