About the Ride
At your chosen time, an experienced English-speaking driver will pick you up from your accommodation in a private vehicle, ready to share historical facts, essential information about the sights, and personal insights to immerse you in the Dutch lifestyle.
Your first stop, after a 30-minute ride, will be Zaanse Schans, a charming area where the 18th and 19th centuries come to life. Along the way, you’ll pass various authentic workshops where traditional wooden clogs are made. Be sure to visit the cheese factory, the pewter foundry, and the iconic Dutch windmills that give the area its distinctive character.
Next, you’ll head to Volendam, one of the most famous fishing villages in the Netherlands. The village boasts a beautiful harbour filled with traditional Dutch ships. From there, you can take a boat trip to Marken. Don’t forget to snap a picture in traditional Volendam attire! You can also learn more about the village’s history at one of the local museums. Finally, you’ll arrive at Marken, a village that was separated from the mainland by a storm in the 13th century. This isolation shaped the community for centuries, and it became a beloved area for local fishermen.
At the end of your ride, your friendly driver will drop you back at your accommodation, ensuring a comfortable conclusion to your unforgettable day.

An official tour guide is not included because the overall experience is centered around the driver and the local’s perspective. Although the drivers are very knowledgeable regarding the points of visit, at no point can they be compared with a licensed tour guide who can give more in depth information regarding historic facts and information. If you would like to include an official tour guide in the experience please let us know via email after the booking is completed.
