On the morning of your tour, a friendly Welcome driver will pick you up directly from your accommodation in Athens and take you on a relaxing drive to the iconic Corinth Canal. The journey takes around 1 hour, following the glittering coastline of the Megara Gulf. While the itinerary is fully customisable, here is a suggested route for your day.
Your adventure begins 4km east of modern Corinth, at the impressive Corinth Canal. This remarkable man-made wonder is 80 meters deep, 6.3 km long, and 23 meters wide – a sight you won’t forget. Visit the submersible bridge to marvel at the scale of the canal and capture some incredible photos. After a morning spent taking in the awe-inspiring views, your driver will take you to the vibrant city of modern Corinth, nestled on the waterfront and filled with charming cafes and restaurants around the port.
Following your break in modern Corinth, you will then head to the historical centre of Ancient Corinth. This is the site where St. Paul preached to the people in 51AD, inspiring the First and Second Corinthians Epistles in the New Testament. Ancient Corinth was once a prominent city in the classical world, and as you stroll through the Agora, you’ll gain insight into its importance. While here, a visit to the magnificent Temple of Apollo is a must.
After immersing yourself in the rich history of Ancient Corinth and the Acrocorinth Venetian Castle, you’ll continue on to Nemea. Upon arrival, you’ll understand why this vineyard is among the most renowned in Greece. Take a tour through the underground wine cellars, home to over 1,000 French oak barrels. Your personal guide will explain the winemaking process in detail, and after the tour, you’ll have the opportunity to indulge in a wine tasting session (optional) while admiring the breathtaking vineyard views.
Next, we recommend enjoying an authentic Greek lunch in the seaside town of Lechaio, guided by your driver’s recommendations.
After this fulfilling experience, you’ll return to your Welcome car, where your driver will take you back to your
accommodation in Athens, rounding off your unforgettable day.

Although the drivers are very knowledgeable regarding the points of visit, at no point can they be compared with a licensed tour guide who can give more in depth information regarding historic facts and information. If you would like to include an official tour guide in the experience please let us know via email after the booking is completed.
